Amnar FAQ
What is Amnar?
Amnar is a fantasy fiction world, not based on any particular Earth time period. It’s non industrial, but as you’ll see as we progress through Book One, they have many very different forms of technology to us. The whole Empire has a population of about six to ten million people.
What is 4785?
This is the year when the series is set. Amnar counts its years from specific periods of major changes in their legislature. 4785 is the Second Age, following major changes made to the Establishment Document. There is a First Age and then an extensive pre-history.
What are the podcasts about?
In each podcast we read another chapter from Book One of 4785, in order, starting with Chapter One.
What’s “Amin Duum”?
Amin Duum is Amnar’s former capital city. In 4765 it formally separated itself from the rest of the Empire under the control of Lord Tiom and his Cabinet. The history behind this is extensive and will be discussed elsewhere. The city is made up of three smaller cities built in the rock walls of the massive Duum Canyon: the High City at the northern end, the lower city (Pasil Duum) in the central canyon and the south city (Rasu Duum) at the southern end.
